The consumer price index (CPI) registered a monthly rise of 2.5% in August, five tenths below the 3% registered in July, the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) reported on Thursday. In addition, the CPI registered a year-on-year increase of 51.4%.
With these average data, the area of the country that registered the greatest monthly increase was Patagonia (3.4%). In contrast, the Cuyo region had the lowest (1.8%).
Regarding the other variations in August, taking into account the previous month, and according to divisions, the Northwest zone showed an incidence of 2.4%; the Northeast region registered 2.7%; La Pampeana 2.3%; and finally, GBA 2.6%.
