Ronaldo and Messi were the two highest rated players in the game for years

Cristiano Ronaldo has been included in the FIFA 22 Premier League Best XI, with the recently resigned Manchester United star joined by teammate Bruno Fernandes.

Ronaldo’s sensational return to Old Trafford was announced at the end of August and he quickly got to work continuing his legacy at the club.

Unsurprisingly, Ronaldo scored on his second Manchester United debut

The Portugal captain starred in a two-goal winning game against Newcastle in his second debut for the club, ending many arguments over the success of his comeback.

FIFA have now joined the debate by placing Ronaldo in their Premier League XI of the league’s top-rated players.

The big shock came when it was announced that Ronaldo’s overall rating of 91 had dropped him below Robert Lewandowski, who rose to second place as the game’s best player behind Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo’s rating of 91 is matched by Manchester City and Belgian Kevin De Bruyne, just behind Harry Kane of Tottenham and N’Golo Kante of Chelsea on 90.

Liverpool have the largest representation with four members of their squad in the squad.

Mohamed Salah sits alongside Kane, while the last three are made up of Liverpool stars Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Heung-min Son crowns the midfielder, while Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson rounds out the XI.
