Aircraft crash in São Paulo causes seven deaths

A small aircraft crashed this Tuesday morning in Piracicaba, in the interior of São Paulo. According to firefighters at the scene, there are seven casualties.

According to the Brazilian press, the plane that crashed was a small one. The fall generated a fire that is being fought by six vehicles and elements of firefighters.

The place of the fall is far from the center of Piracicaba municipality and mainly industrial, with few companies, far from each other.

The twin-engine plane carried the pilot, co-pilot and five passengers who, say the firefighters, will belong to the same family. Deaths were declared on the spot and the identification of victims was not yet possible.

The aircraft left Piracicaba Airport at around 9:00 am local time, having landed shortly thereafter in a wooded area near the São Paulo State Technology Faculty. The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
