The Ministry of Health has published this Monday the update of the figures of infections, hospitalizations and deaths from coronavirus in Spain and, with respect to Friday’s report, the total number of people infected by COVID-19 has increased by 7,804, so the National total of infected already rises to 4,915,265 people since the start of the pandemic.
In addition, Health has reported 103 new deaths from the SARS-CoV-2 infection with respect to this Friday’s data, which makes the official death toll since the beginning of the pandemic already rises to 85,393.
Regarding the accumulated incidence at the national level at 14 days, the figure has dropped another 15.17 points during the weekend to stand at 116.13 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Hospital occupancy continues to decline
This Monday’s Health report registers a new drop in the pressure and hospital occupancy figures with respect to those registered last Friday. Currently there are 4,652 hospitalized patients (on Friday there were 4,975), which represents 3.92% of the occupied beds. The percentage of occupancy in ICUs has also dropped slightly, from 13.37% to 12.80%.
280,000 vaccinations over the weekend
Health has also updated the vaccination figures and there are already 35,300,384 people with the complete vaccination schedule (74.4% of the population). If we look at the number of people with at least one dose of the vaccines, the figure rises to 37,216,507 people (78.4% of Spaniards).
In total, since the vaccination campaign began in Spain, 68,486,683 doses of the four vaccines approved to date by the EMA have been given after administering 280,989 doses since yesterday.
