The Bavarian landlady Petra Nicklas, who runs a small boutique café, does not want to accept the 3G rule. She is convinced: “It divides society, it divides society”. Nicklas is therefore closing its interiors and only catered outside.
It has been in effect nationwide since August 23: the 3G rule. Only those who have recovered, vaccinated or tested are granted access to indoor public spaces. The rule applies from a 7-day incidence of over 35 new infections on three days in a row. Anyone who does not fall into one of the three “G-Categories” will be turned away at the door, even in Bavaria.
The landlady Petra Nicklas, who runs a small boutique café there in the “Free State” in the city of Roth, cannot reconcile this rejection of some guests with her principles. Nicklas makes it clear:
“It divides society, it divides society. […] That this is encouraged and wanted by law is intolerable. “
Because Nicklas does not want to participate in the split in her crowd, she has decided to completely close the interior of her café and only entertain her guests outside. Because the 3G rule does not apply here in the outdoor area. So anyone who wants can come without having to “bear witness”. When asked why she chose this path, she gives a clear, simple answer.
The landlady explains:
“A clear no to the political division of society. We do not want to and will not participate in this. We will not allow ourselves to be instrumentalized by politics and play the corona police here and control people.”
It is clear to Nicklas that she will lose a few guests due to the low temperatures and also make financial losses. But at least she still has her boutique right next door. Here customers are allowed to enter the premises without complying with the 3G rule.
