Alberto Fernandez: "I trust that this path that we started in 2019 will not be altered"

President Alberto Fernández led an act at Casa Rosada this afternoon after the defeat in the primary elections held yesterday. Although there was no mention of the electoral result, there were some symbolic gestures that allow us to begin projecting the future of the government.

In the midst of the versions about changes in the Cabinet, the President claimed the figure of two of the most resisted ministers: the Chief of the Cabinet, Santiago Cafiero, and the Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán. The officials sat in the front row of the act held at the Bicentennial Museum with the first Lady, Fabiola Yañez, who this morning accompanied the head of state to the Government House. The official transmission of the act was in charge of meticulously highlighting the gesture: it focused no less than four times on these two ministers.

Cafiero is specially targeted by the members of the Frente de Todos, to whom he sent a message this morning. “Frontally, no colleague told me that I have to go,” he declared. Guzmán faces criticism for the holes in the economy, especially high inflation and the loss of purchasing power of workers. You are also billed for delays in closing the deal with the International Monetary Fund.

They were not the only officials who were in the Rosada. The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti and the Minister of Security, Sabina Frederic, also participated in the announcement of the new Buy Argentine Law. Matías Kulfas, Minister of Production, was one of the speakers and was seated next to Alberto Fernández and the union member Antonio Caló.

The President did not speak of the electoral result despite the expectations that existed. He only limited himself to mentioning: “Nothing is going to alter the path we started in 2019,” a phrase linked to productive development and the central role of the industry.
