Mick Foley is a WWE legend, but he has no problem calling him as he sees him when it comes to pro wrestling today.

The 56-year-old posted a short video to Facebook on Tuesday detailing the issues he believes WWE is currently facing.

Mick Foley and Vince McMahon had an on / off relationship

“Hello, this is hardcore legend Mick Foley,” said Cactus icon Jack, Mankind and Dude Love.

“I would like to call this video ‘WWE we have a problem’ because I think you do, and that problem is that WWE is no longer the place to aspire for talent.

“Partly because AEW does a great job of attracting great talent, proven talent, developing new ones, creating storylines, but part of it is a problem of your own initiative.

“I think young talent sees the way developing characters are cut or left out or, in the case of Karrion Kross, greatly watered down and even made a joke when they debut on the main roster.

” If it is not broke, do not fix it.

“If I was a budding talent now, a big league talent with a big decision to make, I’m not sure I would trust the creation of WWE to do the right thing with my career.

“You did wonders with me back then, it was another time, another place.

“If it was today, I’m not sure I would trust the Powers to have my career in their hands. And until that changes, WWE, you have a problem.

The three-time WWE Champion has a son who works in the WWE offices and has made recurring appearances for the company over the years, but he was not afraid to voice his opinion on the current product of the WWE. WWE and publicly.

AEW has become a true contender for the WWE throne as the pinnacle of wrestling.

While it will take years to become a global powerhouse like WWE, the energy and enthusiasm attached to the AEW product is undeniable right now.

Their ratings and pay-per-view purchase rates tend to rise and with the signings of Daniel Byran, CM Punk, and Adam Cole, the company has taken over some of the biggest names in the game today.

Foley is right. AEW isn’t just grabbing WWE rejections now; Daniel Bryan was in the main event of WrestleMania this year and Adam Cole is arguably the most successful NXT talent of all time. They are two big, legitimate stars who have decided that AEW is a better place for them.

How many others will do it too? WWE has already shown that they can adapt and be successful, but so far they have denied the need to do so and when you look at the money they make you can kind of see why.

Record profits suggest WWE is very successful. But will it last if the tide continues to turn not only in AEW’s favor, but in the spirit of talent?
