The sequel to the King of the Seven Seas has been in full shooting for several weeks. For this reason, director James Wan has shared a couple of images from the production in recent days. The last one consists of a behind-the-scenes footage where we see the filmmaker in the company of one of his favorite actors, who long ago assumed the role of Orm Marius (or Master of the Ocean) within the DCEU. It is, of course, Patrick Wilson, who will take up that antagonistic role for the sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
However, as can be seen in the photograph published by James Wan via Instagram, this Orm Marius lacks the neatness with which we met him in the 2018 film. Even the director agrees that Patrick Wilson seems to have spent several years in neglect, being friends with a bloody ball.
«I found this guy, Patrick Wilson, washed up on a deserted beach, making his impression of Cast Away«, It reads at the bottom of the image.
Cast Away is a 2000 film that we know best in Latin America as Castaway. In case anyone is clueless around here, this is an Oscar-nominated drama directed by the prolific Robert Zemeckis and starring the legendary Tom Hanks. It is about an analyst of the FedEx parcel system who ends up alone on a desert island after the accident of the plane where he was traveling. Midway through production, Hanks had to lose weight and grow his hair and beard out in order to adopt the appearance of someone who spent four years away from civilization. Although of course, he did not have a marked abdomen like the one Patrick Wilson now boasts for Aquaman 2.
On the look of the actor of The spellIt is probably the result of several years that his character spent in prison. At the end of Aquaman (excuse the spoiler) Orm Marius suffers a definitive defeat at the hands of his half-brother Arthur Curry, who in this way manages to ascend to the throne. For his part, the villain manages to avoid death but is placed under arrest by Atlantean soldiers. Will we see him try to regain absolute dominance in the next movie?
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom filming began at the end of June this year. It will premiere on December 16, 2022. In addition to Wilson, the cast has the return of the star Jason Momoa, as well as Amber Heard, Dolph Lundgren and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
Warner Bros. Pictures said it will reveal behind-the-scenes footage of said sequel during the DC Fadome 2021. Come on here to know the most relevant of this upcoming virtual event, where the new trailer of The Batman and other infinity of advances.
