The “motochorro” Gastón Aguirre, who a little more than seven years ago tried to rob a Canadian tourist with a gun who recorded him in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of La Boca, was arrested for beating his partner, police sources reported. The arrest was carried out in the last hours at Aguirre’s home, on Comandante Francisco Carbonari street at 1700.
Police spokespersons reported that the episode of gender violence occurred on August 1, when “Conejo” Aguirre was walking down the street with his partner and at a certain point the woman greeted an ex-boyfriend who was passing by. According to what was denounced by the victim, this caused the anger of the man, who hit her in the middle of a public street.
Subsequently, the woman went to the Southern Family Protection Area, where she filed the complaint and the Criminal, Misconduct and Misdemeanor Prosecutor’s Office 34 was intervened, which decided to verify Aguirre’s address.
After confirming the location of the house of “Conejo”, Judge Alejandro Villanueva, from the same jurisdiction, ordered the search, carried out by members of the Brigade of the Communal Police Station 4 of the City Police, who detained him but found no weapons of fire.
Aguirre became publicly known after a Canadian tourist released a video recorded with a GoPro camera that he wore in his helmet on August 13, 2014.
In this it could be observed how Aguirre, on a motorcycle and with a gun, tried to steal his backpack while he was riding a bicycle with friends in La Boca. The defendant was detained by order of Judge Fernando Caunedo, but then the Crime Chamber released him and a little more than a year later, in September 2015, he fell again on a motorcycle without a license, with two knives and 23 cocaine wrappers.
