The 1981 ‘Maradonian’ uniform is back in the Boca Juniors. This Friday, the 13th, the Argentine team unveiled its new uniform for the 2021 season, inspired by the Metropolitan model that made history with Diego Maradona. Predominantly blue and with a yellow horizontal stripe, the kit has blue shorts with yellow stripes on the side and yellow socks, and was produced by Adidas. On the club’s official website, the men’s shirt costs 7,999 Argentine pesos (R$ 432, at current prices) and the women’s 6,999 pesos (R$ 378). The children’s shirt is going out for 6,499 pesos (R$ 351). On February 22, 1981, Maradona debuted with Boca’s shirt. In the same year, he won the Metropolitano (Argentine Championship) and began his love trajectory with the club. The 1981 shirt is one of the top sellers on retail sites.
