The peculiar difference between the love stories of "Doctor Miracle" Y "The Good Doctor"

By Diario Show

Since its premiere on the Telefe screen, “Doctor Milagro” has become a success in Argentina with the story about the young surgeon Ali Vefa who suffers from the Sage Syndrome, corresponding to the autism spectrum. But around the world, the story had different versions.

The original series titled “Gut Kakteo” (“Good Doctor”, in Spanish) corresponds to South Korea and premiered in 2013. It only consists of 20 episodes, but it was a sensation in his country. So much was the impact that it generated that, years later, a production company in the United States bought the rights to launch its own adaptation.

“The Good Doctor”, the American version, was released in 2017 by David Shore as showrunner and Daniel Dae Kim as executive producer. This time the fiction was made in a single and longer format: it already has 71 chapters spread over four seasons, in which they even address the coronavirus pandemic in their latest episodes.

In 2018, Japan also released its version called “Guddo Dokuta”. The following year, knowing the great success generated by the story, Turkey decided to make its own bet and launched “Mucize Doktor” on the television market, which was translated into Spanish as “Doctor Milagro”.

The Turkish adaptation stars Taner Ölmez, as Ali Vefa, and his romantic partner is Nazli Gülengül, played by Sinem Ünsal.

The main plot remains: the young surgeon with an autistic spectrum who deals with the integration with the rest of his colleagues in the hospital while trying to save lives, but a detail in the love story has alterations depending on which version you look at.

While in the Turkish adaptation that landed in Argentina, the love story is between the protagonist and his hospital companion, in the North American version, the main character falls in love with a neighbor.

The funny thing is that the neighbor’s character also has an appearance in “Doctor Miracle”, but she arrives in the second season under the name Ezo and is played by Ezgi Asaroglu. His appearance breaks into the plot as a “third in disagreement” that could threaten the relationship between the leading couple.

On the contrary, in “The Good Doctor”, Dr. Shaun Murphy, played by Freddie Highmore, begins from the first episodes an affair with his neighbor, who this time bears the name of Lea, the actress Freddie Highmore. But towards the end, the one who puts their love in check is Dr. Carly Lever (Jasika Nicole), a new member of the hospital.

This character has a brief participation but becomes the partner of the protagonist during some chapters. However, the love affair with Lea predominates with the passing of the plot.
