Sputnik V demonstrated a 83.1 percent efficiency versus Delta variant of the coronavirus, as reported by health authorities of the Russian Federation this Wednesday, who stressed that it is the highest immunity achieved by the vaccines available in the world.
The drug produced by the Gamaleya Institute proved to have a 94.4 percent effective against hospitalizations for coronavirus of the delta variant and 83.1 against infection. As reported by the Sptunik V developers on social media, “This is the highest efficiency versus the 76% estimate for Moderna and 42% for Pfizer.”
During the month of July, the medical journal Vaccines had published an investigation carried out by the Gamaleya Center where they showed that Sputnik V is “highly effective against new variants of covid-19, including Delta,” they highlighted from the official Sputnik Twitter.
“Sputnik V vaccination has produced protective neutralization titers against new variants, including Alpha B.1.1.7 (first identified in the UK), Beta B.1.351 (first identified in South Africa), Gamma P. 1 (first identified in Brazil), Delta B.1.617.2 and B.1.617.3 (first identified in India) and Moscow endemic variants B.1.1.141 and B.1.1.317 with mutations in the receptor binding domain (RBD), “recalled the statement released this Wednesday by the Gamaleya Institute.
From there they also added that “the data confirm that Sputnik V continues to protect against newly detected variants and conserves one of the best safety and efficacy parameters. “
