According to the information obtained, the Special Operations Vehicle will be added to the armored combat vehicles in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces in the near future.
Developed within the scope of the 6×6 Mine Protected Vehicle (MKKA) Procurement Project signed between FNSS and the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), the Pars IV 6×6 Special Operations Vehicle is capable of firing for special operations, effective protection against handmade explosives (IED), high mine and ballistics. survivability infrastructure, which includes protection, was designed as a tool beyond the existing ones with new technology mission equipment.
Designed and developed by FNSS with national resources, the vehicle has a unique modular armor structure. The integrated IED kit and the RPG mesh, which can be easily disassembled by the user, complete the vehicle’s passive protection elements.
In the MKKA Project, which started in 2019, all mine, IED and ballistic tests of the vehicle were carried out with the user at FNSS facilities, Turkish Armed Forces exercise fields and internationally accredited test centers. The vehicle was tested against high-level mine threats defined in survivability standards, as well as IED and ballistic threats from all directions. Acoustic warning system, which is sensitive to supersonic sounds and integrated with weapon turrets, active mixing/blinding system, 360-degree dual-user fog mortars and CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear) system are also on the vehicle as active protection elements.
3 SEPARATE WEAPONS, 2X FIREPOWER
In line with the tactical needs of special operations, the Pars IV 6×6 Special Operations Vehicle, which was originally created with its concept, has 2 independent Starboard Remote Controlled Weapon Systems, also developed by FNSS. Three different weapon types (7.62 mm, 12.7 mm machine gun and 40 mm automatic grenade launcher) can be used in the turrets, which can be easily changed by the user when needed. The vehicle provides surveillance and 2x effective firepower against threats that may appear from different directions simultaneously from all around or from high points. The mission equipment of the vehicles includes high-tech systems, including simultaneous, safe and uninterrupted communication between subordinates and superiors, high situational awareness, effective command and control capability, at a single vehicle level and in unity.
The vehicle, which has the most powerful and agile power group in its class with its powerful engine, 7 forward and 2 reverse gears, also provides the best road holding in different terrain and road conditions with its height-adjustable independent suspension. Pars IV 6×6, which has all-wheel drive and front-rear axle rotation system, has the lowest turning circle in its class and high maneuverability in the residential area. After the rigorous tests that must be completed before entering the inventory, the project will reach its final stage and the Pars IV 6×6 Special Operations Vehicle will be delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces. Thus, the latest generation combat vehicle in the 6×6 class will enter the inventory of the Turkish army.
