Baja California.- Due to the intense rains and winds developed in Mexicali, Baja California one of the tower of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), collapsed leaving hundreds of residents without power.

According to what was reported by local media, the intense gusts of wind were the culprits that the immense steel structure fell to the ground, as well as light poles and trees that made it difficult for vehicles to move.

It was detailed that the tower that fell last Tuesday night was the one located on the Lázaro Cárdenas boulevard and Anillo Periférico.

This situation caused that neighborhoods and subdivisions surrounding the place will be left without electricity supply. Some of the affected colonies were; Villa del Roble, Condesa, Islas Agrarias, Oasis and San Pedro.

Civil protection recommended extreme precautions

For its part, the Directorate of Civil Protection of the state of Baja California reported that the total traffic of the Lázaro Cárdenas boulevard will be closed so that CFE personnel can carry out the necessary tasks to restore service.
