Total madness; There are no other words to describe Xiaomi’s latest device. It is about the Xiaomi CyberDog, a most amazing bionic quadruped packed with cameras and sensors and capable of speeds of up to 3.2 meters per second.
During an event for the Chinese market, Xiaomi presented its first intelligent quadruped, a kind of bionic dog able to move from one place to another and show an interactive visual and auditory experience.
The manufacturer has shown an autonomous robot with four legs in the style of Spot from Boston Dynamics, although without the accessory arm and limiting itself to the four legs that a real dog would have.
And beware, there is not everything. It is not a prototype as it might have seemed. CyberDog has come on stage after having seen the Xiaomi MIX 4, the Mi Pad 5 and 5 Pro, the Xiaomi Sound and new OLED televisions, and as a final act it has said goodbye doing a pirouette.
We do not have data on the autonomy or the mAh of the battery, but we know that CyberDog has three Type-C ports. It also has an HDMI, to which you can connect a compatible device such as a camera.
The robot that follows you at 11.5 kilometers / hour
CyberDog has facial recognition, with which the manufacturer promises that it is able to recognize and follow its owner through the house without tripping. It can be controlled with its own remote, as well as with a mobile app, integrating a voice assistant.
The robot can reach 11.52 km / h. It has an NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX, its numerous cameras, microphones and in general, a complete environmental recognition system offered by Intel, is able to follow us and accept orders. In addition, it has 128GB of internal memory.
There is no doubt that Xiaomi has been inspired by the future to make the present. The Xiaomi CyberDog It becomes the ‘toy’ that many of us will want to try and of course, buy and have it as if it were a pet.
Price and availability
You may be thinking that its price is going to be exorbitant; However, the Xiaomi CyberDog It will go on sale in China for 9,999 yuan, about 1,316 euros at the exchange rate. A price that, although it is high, is not so much for what we could expect. Yes indeed, so far only 700 units have been made so its sale will be very limited.
