The journalist and chronicler of Catalan literature Rosa Maria Piñol has died in Barcelona at age 70, as reported The vanguard this Monday.
Piñol developed a large part of his career in newspapers Today Y The vanguard Y retired in 2015, year in which he received the Premi Trajectòria, an award granted by the Catalan literary and publishing world in recognition of a career in favor of Catalan culture.
In 1991 he published the essay Pompeu Fabra, my father. Personal memories of Carola Fabra (La Campana), and in 1992 he received one of the Atlàntida awards from the Gremi d’Editors of Catalonia for his “exceptional attention to all aspects related to the world of books and publishing in the field of Catalan letters”.

In his obituary at The vanguard, the journalist Llàtzer Moix has highlighted his diligence when reporting on new titles of writers and the reliability with which he dedicated himself to his work, and has described it as a driving force and a key reference for Catalan literature.
The farewell ceremony of the journalist will be held this Tuesday at 11 am at the Les Corts mortuary in Barcelona.
