The candidates accepted the challenge, promised to speak to society and LA GACETA will once again make available to the people of Tucuman the debate cycle of applicants that more than a decade ago was installed as part of the democratic life of the province in the previous electoral

The multi-award winning journalistic program “Panorama Tucumano” will host the voices and exchange of ideas of those seeking a place for the general elections in November. In these Primary, Open, Simultaneous and Compulsory, there will be eight debates, on Wednesdays starting at 8.30pm. The programs can be seen on, on Channel 11 of CCC, on CCC GO and on the official accounts of LA GACETA’s social networks. In addition, all the previous and the analysis of the proposals of the applicants will be present on the web and in our paper edition.

The debates organized by our newspaper concentrated great interest from the audience and the candidates, because the latter allows them to present proposals on key issues and society to learn a little more about what they think and how each one is handled.

On this occasion, the people of Tucumán will be able to hear and see the candidates in the first and second terms, in the positions of deputies and senators, of the two most important political forces (in terms of number of votes) in the province: the Frente de All and Together for Change.

Both political spaces face major challenges in the PASO and it will not be, as it was known to happen on previous occasions in Tucumán, a “mere formality”. The two coalitions face powerful internal ones, with relevant leaders who will vote at the polls for being the candidates in November of their respective groups.

Hence the intention of our newspaper to summon them to debate in the newsroom and in the TV studios of LA GACETA.

On Wednesday the cycle will begin with the participation of the candidates for deputies of Together for Change, in the first and second terms. This year there are three lists that will look for a place for the November generals.

On Wednesday they will debate, from 20:30, those who occupy the second step in their respective payroll. Will be Alberto Colombres Garmendia, Cambiemos Tucumán (the space led by Cano-Elías); Paula Omodeo, Together for Tucumán (led by Campero-Sánchez); Y Paula Quiles, Together to Build (from Alfaro-Ávila). That same night, after a brief reflection on the first debate, the heads of the list will enter the study: Silvia Elías de Pérez, Let’s change Tucumán; Roberto Sanchez, Together for Tucumán; Y Ramiro Beti, Together to Build.

All applicants have already given their agreement and promised to respect the regulations laid out by LA GACETA to carry out the debate.

The following Wednesday will be the turn of the candidates for the Senate, also within the coalition of Together for Change. That day they will see the faces, first, Sandra Manzone, Beatriz Ávila e Indiana Mendilaharzu. The same night they will José Cano, German Alfaro Y Mariano Campero.

Due to the specific weight of each of the applicants, the debates promise to be revealing in terms of ideas, tone of the confrontation and exposition of why one and the other share space but not lists.

The two Wednesdays will be for the two lists that compose the Frente de Todos to expose their proposals and differences. Gladys medina, All for Tucumán (who leads Osvaldo Jaldo), Y Alexander melo, Peronist Loyalty (which leads Juan Manzur) will be face to face within the framework of the second place they occupy in the list of pre-candidates for deputies. They will do the same Rossana Chahla and Osvaldo Jaldo, who head the list that aspires to the Lower House.

Regarding the candidates for the Senate, Pablo Yedlin Y Juan Ruiz Olivares (first in their respective lists), and Sandra mendoza Y Graciela Gutierrez (second in the respective spaces) will complete this round of eight debates.

The participants of the debate, prior to them, signed the regulations of the meeting, in which they undertake not only to participate, but to respect the terms described there. Among other issues, it establishes equal time to present ideas on identical topics and freely debate among themselves in a respectful framework.

All the candidates, in addition, have prior access to the proposed topics, which on this occasion will be divided into two instances: one dedicated to purely parliamentary issues (such as tax reform, operation of institutions, inflation) and another to problems specific to Tucumán ( industrial development, insecurity, education).

The proposal of LA GACETA is that the audience can have first-hand access to the ideas and positions of the candidates on issues that are specific to the agenda of the National Congress, and other issues that have to do directly with the daily life of the tucumanos.

On Wednesday, starting at 8:30 p.m., the kick-off will be given to this initiative and journalistic effort to strengthen democracy, with more information, for all people from Tucumán.
