The president of the Argentine Boxing Federation (FAB), Luis Romio, died this Sunday at age 81, confirmed the entity on social networks.

“Our memory will always be that of a man who gave everything for Argentine boxing,” the FAB posted on Instagram along with a photo of Romio saying goodbye to the Olympic boxers at the Cenard facilities.

Romio spent his entire life linked to the activity: he was a boxer until he was 22 years old, then he served as a coach, jury, referee and leader.

At the FAB he held various positions and in 2016 he became president when his predecessor, Osvaldo Bisbal, joined the International Boxing Association (AIBA).

On July 13, after an Ordinary Assembly of the institution, Romio had renewed his mandate with Bisbal as vice president, who will now be in charge according to the line of succession.
