According to the latest data released by the health authorities, Portugal has 53 active outbreaks in residences, with more than 800 cases.

The most worrying is that of a residence in Proença-a-nova, with 127 cases, 105 of them in the elderly and where there has been a death, a person who was already “very weak,” as revealed this week by the president of the Union of Portuguese Mercies, Manuel Lemos.

Lemos noted that most of those infected are from the first to be vaccinated at the center, more time ago, and had requested a serological study in residences like the one that the Executive has just announced.

Portugal, with 10 million inhabitants, has added 984 thousand 985 confirmed cases and 17 thousand 457 deaths since the pandemic began.
