The autonomous communities have notified the Ministry of Health this Friday 21,561 new cases of Covid-19, 10,540 of them diagnosed in the last 24 hours. These figures are lower than those of the same day last week, when 24,753 positives were reported, indicating a slight downward trend in the evolution of the pandemic.
The total number of infections in Spain already rises to 4.588.132 since the start of the pandemic, according to official statistics. The cumulative incidence in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants stands at 591.14, up from 614.88 yesterday. In the past two weeks, a total of 280,503 positives have been registered.
In this Friday’s report they have been added 75 new deaths, compared to 44 last Friday. Up to 82,006 people with a positive diagnostic test have died since the virus arrived in Spain, according to data collected by the Ministry. In the last week, 342 people with a confirmed positive coronavirus diagnosis have died in Spain.
Currently there 10,015 patients admitted by Covid-19 throughout Spain (10,004 yesterday) and 1,928 in UCI (1,925 yesterday). In the last 24 hours, there have been 1,199 admissions (1,276 yesterday) and 1,405 discharges (1,351 yesterday). The occupancy rate of beds occupied by coronavirus stands at 8.48% (8.45% yesterday) and in ICUs at 20.87% (20.78% yesterday).
Between July 27 and August 2, the autonomous communities have performed 1,164,548 diagnostic tests, of which 756,473 have been PCR and 408,075 antigen tests, with an overall rate per 100,000 inhabitants of 2,476.38. The total positivity rate stands at 14.57%, compared to 14.9% yesterday.
