Brutal assault on a teacher in a block burdened by insecurity

It was just dawn and a teacher from the Kindergarten of the Santa Lucía School, in Tolosa, was already 50 meters from the establishment to start a new workday.

With a determined step, he walked the last few meters to enter that educational center through the access that leads to the corner of 7 and 523. Then, two criminals got out of a black car. They were armed and ready to assault her.

According to what the video from a private security camera shows, they immediately cut her off and ran her a few meters away. They wanted to take his wallet and began a struggle. They made her fall to the ground and rolled her over until they managed to remove her.

Then, with their purpose accomplished, the thugs got into the same vehicle and escaped to an unknown destination. They are still at large.

The teacher, meanwhile, was helped by some neighbors and by Santa Lucía personnel who were alerted to the attack.

“I WAS AWAKENED BY THE SCREAMS”

Lautaro Mondati (25) lives steps from where both criminals assaulted and physically assaulted the teacher.

Yesterday afternoon, in dialogue with this newspaper, he said that he woke up at home “when he heard the woman’s screams coming from the street. And also steps, because they persecuted her ”.

Right away, she revealed that “when I looked out, the teacher was lying on the floor and desperate. The assailants were already getting into the car at the corner ”of 7 and 523.

“Until 8 or 9 in the morning, when there begins to be more movement in the block for the school, many take the opportunity to steal, especially women on the street”

He also recalled that “immediately several neighbors came out to find out what had happened. And immediately, someone on the block activated the Neighborhood Alarm. “

The young man suffered a difficult time because, he recalled, “a month ago, two blocks from here, they tried to rob me on the street and that same day a video of a neighborhood boy who was robbed when he was about to enter a his house, ”he said.

“Since last year there have been several cases of insecurity, in homes and on the street,” he later reflected and reflected that “insecurity is latent here.”

“THIS IS NOBODY’S LAND”

The violent assault suffered by the Santa Lucía Kindergarten teacher shocked the entire neighborhood.

Later, a group of fronts met with EL DIA in the block of the attack, in 5 between 522 and 523.

“In this block and in others in the neighborhood, we have already had several assaults since last year. Ten days ago, on the way back they stole a car in broad daylight “

Celeste Fernández (40) stated that “until 8 or 9 in the morning, when there begins to be more movement on the block at school, many take the opportunity to steal, especially women on the street. The same as between 1 pm and 5 pm, when the students and teachers are in classes ”.

For his part, Carlos Laporta (54) denounced that “in this block and in others in the neighborhood we already had several assaults since last year. 10 days ago, on the way back, a car was stolen in broad daylight and a year ago, on this block, in front of the school, there was an entrance to a married couple. It was what decided us to hire the Neighborhood Alarm system that is on the block and with cameras, to try at least to deter thieves. But the robberies did not stop and we felt like we were in no man’s land ”.

His son Blas Laporta (23) recalled that “when the Local Police worked, we had some troops on the block who stayed until 5 or 6 in the afternoon. That gave us peace of mind, the people at the school and the neighbors ”.

Federico Cristofani (36) mentioned that “we have several WhatsApp groups in the neighborhood. All the blocks are interconnected and each administrator is part of another group ”.

Patrolling

The neighbor considered that “there should be a police officer as custodian, mainly during school entry and exit times.”

A similar concern was raised on several occasions by the Santa Lucia authorities.

The residents of that neighborhood also assured that some students suffered situations of violence.

In this regard, Fernández assured that a neighbor went through a similar distressing moment and Cristofani conjectured: “perhaps they wanted to do the same with the teacher.”
