Europe exceeds 60 million cases of coronavirus, reported the World Health Organization (WHO), which urged to promote vaccination and to respect social and health control measures against the pandemic.

The European region, which includes 53 countries, is the second with the most infected after the American one (with 77 million) and has so far registered more than 1.2 million deaths from covid-19.

The end of the pandemic is still on the horizon (…) It is important that countries continue their combined efforts to protect the most vulnerable populations and those at risk“WHO-Europe Emergency Director Dorit Nitzan said in a statement.

The WHO recalled that vaccination rates vary notably between different countries and that in some the coverage of priority groups such as those over 60 years of age, health workers and the population at risk is “low”.
