In a press release, the INE stated that the objective is to provide citizens with certainty about the results of this mechanism of direct participation by announcing them the same night of Sunday, August 1.

There will be 1,830 receiving tables that will make up the statistical sample defined by the group of experts from the quick count.

The selection table for the sample was headed by the Executive Director of the Federal Register of Voters (DERFE), René Miranda Jaimes, who assured that “the result of this exercise will make it possible to publicize the percentage of citizen participation and the percentages of each one of the options that it raises ”.

In addition, it was attended by the Notary Public number 237 of Mexico City, Alfredo Ayala Herrera, who gave public faith to the act; Carlos Erwin Rodríguez, advisor to the Quick Count of the Popular Consultation and César Sanabria, Deputy Director of Computer Security of the DERFE.

The objective of the Quick Count of the Popular Consultation, said the experts who are members of the table, is to estimate in the form of intervals -always with 95% confidence- two percentages; the first corresponds to citizen participation and the second to the meaning of the responses issued by citizens to the question:

Do you agree or not that the pertinent actions are carried out in accordance with the constitutional and legal framework, to undertake a process of clarification of political decisions, taken in recent years by political actors, aimed at guaranteeing justice and the rights of potential victims?

To carry out the selection of the sample for the quick count of the Popular Consultation, a design was made that considered the list of 57 thousand 015 opinion receiving tables that will be installed next Sunday throughout the country.

The distribution of the 1,830 tables included six tables for each of the 300 federal districts and an oversample in the federal districts of Baja California and Sonora. Also, in the quick count 1,700 Assistant Instructors will participate, of which 93 percent will send information only from an opinion receiving table, thereby streamlining the flow of information.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, the General Council will be informed of the results report that shows the quick count, which is expected to confirm the results of the scrutiny and official count that will begin that same night.
