Alcampo has started the sale of white grapes and red seedless grapes under its Alcampo Produccin Controlada brand, making it available to its customers only during the national campaign and thus reinforcing its commitment to seasonal and proximity products that ensure an optimal point of duration. . In addition, every year we work on varietal selection to offer continuous product improvement.
In this new season, Alcampo has incorporated a novelty that is part of the company’s plastic reduction policy: a new FSC certified cardboard container with a PET lid that allows a 50% reduction in plastic compared to the previous container. , estimating a saving of about 4,000 kg per year of plastic that, in addition to being more sustainable, allows the product to be valued.
One of the suppliers selected for the production and commercialization of these national seedless grapes is Moyca, a Spanish company created in 1995 and whose plantations are mainly located in the southeast of Spain, with Murcia being the region with the highest production due to its climate and geographical conditions. .
Moyca works on the development of its grapes taking into account the triple aspect of sustainability (economic, social and environmental), counting on plans to reduce the use of phytosanitary products, reuse of pruning remains, use of solar energy or control of water consumption. , having incorporated reservoirs in some farms to collect rainwater. In the social framework, they have the GRASP certificate that includes aspects related to the health, safety and well-being of workers.
