It is raining in the west, wind in the east - what is the weather doing in Georgia?

Trees uprooted and torn power lines – this is the situation now in several municipalities of Kakheti

TBILISI, 28 Jul – Sputnik. Some of the residents in the municipality of Lagodekhi (Kakheti) are still without electricity.

A strong wind, which rose at night, cut off power lines, roofs were torn off in some places. Several cars were damaged by huge trees uprooted.

Strong winds also caused damage to the municipalities of Telavi and Lagodekhi. The traffic was temporarily restricted.

The power distribution company Energo-Pro Georgia has already sent repair teams to restore power lines.

While strong winds are raging in eastern Georgia, in the western part of the country, downpours and overflowing rivers erode roads and demolish bridges.

According to the National Environment Agency, bad weather throughout the country will continue until July 29.
