In Ukraine, they wanted to produce Su-27 and MiG-29 fighters. This is reported by the “Ukrainian Militaristic Portal” with reference to specialists from the State Research Institute (SRI) of the country’s aviation.

It is reported that the Su-27 and Mig-29 developed in the 1970s are considered as candidates for production due to the presence in Ukraine of two aircraft repair enterprises that have the ability to repair individual parts of the airframe of these fighters and replace damaged elements.

The Aviation Research Institute proposed to equip fighters made in the country with engines, electronics and weapons produced by the Ukrainian military-industrial complex (MIC).

In the justification of the specialists, there is no information about where it is planned to manufacture new gliders for fighters, as well as financial calculations. Also, according to the publication, the issue with detection systems, landing gear, avionics and other units of these aircraft, which were not produced in Ukraine, is not disclosed.

In June, the Defense Blog reported that the largest Pentagon contractor, the American military-industrial corporation Lockheed Martin, offered Ukraine to buy F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters from it. The publication noted that the F-16 Fighting Falcon in Ukraine could replace the Su-27 and MiG-29 aircraft.
