Russia sent planes with humanitarian aid to Cuba. It is reported in its Telegram channel “Zvezda”.

It is clarified that two An-124 “Ruslan” of the Ministry of Defense took off from the Chkalovsky airfield near Moscow. They will deliver food, personal protective equipment and over a million medical masks.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the planes took off on behalf of Vladimir Putin.

Earlier in July, Cuban authorities declared a state of emergency in the country after massive protests against the ruling Communist Party broke out for the first time in many years. The protesters are demanding free elections and more decisive action to combat the pandemic.

In December 2020, it was reported that Russia from eight cities of the country sent more than 1.2 thousand tons of humanitarian aid to Nagorno-Karabakh.
