According to media reports on Friday, Harry Kane’s transfer to Manchester City seemed to be slowly but surely entering the home stretch – or was it?
As “The Athletic” reports, the original broadcast of “The Sun” that Tottenham Hotspur gave its star striker these days the clearance for a transfer to the reigning English champions is simply wrong.
Accordingly, the “Spurs” are still confident of being able to hold Kane. A move to Manchester City would still be in the room. The “Citizens” are said to have not yet given up an obligation.
187 million euros too much for ManCity?
Both clubs were surprised by the report of the “Sun”, the Tottenham officials found the writing as “extremely unpleasant”. Tottenham boss Daniel Levy is said to have annoyed the false reports that he is now more determined than ever to want to keep Harry Kane.
According to the “Sun”, Manchester City was most recently willing to put 187 million euros on the table for the English team captain. As “The Athletic” now writes, however, the Champions League finalist’s pain threshold should be well below the rumored amount.
Harry Kane’s contract with Tottenham Hotspur runs until 2024.
