This Wednesday, the Complaints and Complaints Commission of the National Electoral Institute (INE) sent an exhortation to Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) in which he ordered to withdraw the morning of Monday, July 19.

According to the electoral authorities, in said morning conference the ban on popular consultation was violated with the participation of the Undersecretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel, who presented the pension program for the elderly.

This caused the National Action Party (PAN) to file a complaint against AMLO and whoever was responsible for Monday’s conference.

They pointed out that on that day there was talk of social programs despite being closed since last July 15 due to the popular consultation that will be held this next August 1.

Given this, the party was given reason and the precautionary measure was granted to order the withdrawal of said conference from all platforms of the federal government, as well as an exhortation to President López Obrador.

This comes after the Specialized Regional Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Power (TEPJF) determined that the President incurred in government propaganda and violated the Constitution during the morning conference on December 23, 2020.

For this reason, he asked the president to adjust the content of the information that he disseminates in the “mornings”, at least until the conclusion of the popular consultation on August 1 next.

Derived from the conference of December 23, 2020, it was determined that President López Obrador incurred in government propaganda by referring negatively to opposition political parties and highlighting government achievements in electoral season.

That “morning” was denounced by the PRD. In the first instance, it was declared that there was no government propaganda in the Specialized Regional Chamber; However, the Superior Chamber of the TEPJF, when analyzing the case, returned it a thorough review.

This Monday, the Regional Chamber submitted for discussion and analysis the project of magistrate Luis Espíndola and concluded the existence of government propaganda, which violated the principle of impartiality, equity and neutrality that must exist in an electoral process marked in the Constitution.
