Germany’s footballers conceded a painful 2-4 defeat against Brazil at the start of the Olympic tournament.

The Selecao already leads 3-0 after half an hour, Everton legionnaire Richarlison puts together a flawless hat trick (7th, 22nd, 30th). A penalty parade by goalie Florian Müller against Matheus Cunha prevents an even higher deficit at the break.

After changing sides, Nadiem Amiri made a 3-1 goal (57th) after a mistake by the Brazilian goalkeeper, before Germany’s captain Maximilian Arnold was thrown off the pitch with yellow and red. Out of nowhere, however, Ragnar Ache shortened again (84th) and left the Germans who were not played together by coach Stefan Kuntz in Yokohama hoping for a flattering point.

In stoppage time, Paulinho made the game clear with the 4: 2. The Brazilians are the only title favorites to live up to this status. France conceded a 4-1 defeat against Mexico, Spain only played 0-0 against Egypt.

Brazil meet Ivory Coast in the second group game, who beat the Saudis 2-1 (1-1). Germany is challenged against Saudi Arabia.
