For several years now, the FIFA series has dominated the football genre on consoles. But long-time gamblers and of course die-hard fans, the Pro-Evolution series will not only be a household name, but may also continue to be the measure of all things.
However, PES supporters are now facing a turning point in their favorite game series: After PES was renamed to eFootball PES (also known as Winning Eleven in Japan) in the previous version, the offshoot coming in autumn is now only called eFootball.
The biggest innovation, however, is the business model: from the new version available in early autumn on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and PC, manufacturer Konami is switching to Free2play. So the base game will be free.
Friendlies will probably be possible at least once in this. After that, online leagues and other game modes will gradually be added. It has not yet been determined what it will become pay content and what will be playable for free.
