Neill Blomkamp, the director of ‘District 9’ (2009) is back this year with the new horror movie supernatural ‘Demonic’ and after a first preview a few weeks ago, we now have the full trailer of the film.
A ‘Silent Hill’ VR
In the plot of ‘Demonic’, a young girl unleashes terrifying demons when the supernatural forces that dwell at the root of a decades-long gap between her and her mother are mercilessly revealed. In the new official trailer it looks like a science fiction twist on ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ (A Nightmare on Elm Street, 1984), using mind-altering technology in the place of dreams, a bit in the style of ‘The Cell’ and even to ‘Silent Hill’.
As reported the press release of the film:
“The film uses a new patent-pending method of using volumetric capture (a three-dimensional video technology that turns actors into geometric objects). The amount of volumetric capture in ‘Demonic’ is the most seen in a feature film.”
Carly Pope, Chris William Martin y Michael Rogers star in ‘Demonic’, which will be released in theaters USA, On Demand and Digital through IFC Midnight on August 20, 2021, but it still has no release date in Spain.
