One of the first measures taken by the new president of RTVE, José Manuel Pérez Tornero, was cancel Jesús Cintora’s talk show, Things clear, because “the infoshow has no place” on public broadcasting. The program will say goodbye this Thursday, July 22, just the day before the Tokyo Olympics kick off.

This Monday, Cintora himself has broken his silence regarding his departure at the end of the interview he was doing with Joan Baldoví, deputy of Commitment, who congratulated him on his performance in front of the format.

“It has been and is always a pleasure talking to you. I sincerely hope to see you again after the great successes that we are going to have at the Olympic Games. I hope we have great success there and then, in September, to be able to see your face again presenting this program ”, the politician told him, despite the fact that the return in September is not planned at all.

I think the numbers and audience share support it. I insist once again, TVE would have to make a thought of reflection”, Added Joan Baldoví. “I don’t see why a program that works has to disappear,” he insisted, while Cintora smiled.

“Why is it?”asked the presenter ironically, words that the interviewee also repeated, “why will it be?” “As another would say, we will talk about the Government” Cintora finished with an enigmatic tone.

Let us remember that José Manuel Pérez Tornero justified the end of Las cosas clara because “the journalism that TVE must do is public, valuable, and informs in depth. Everything that is trivialization, show and scandal should not be anywhere on RTVE, but fundamentally in the news ”.

According to data from Kantar, Things clear It had an average screen share of 7.2% and 522,000 viewers in the period from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. two tenths and 117,000 fewer viewers than what the chain achieved in that slot in the 2019/2020 season (7.2% and 522,000 viewers).
