Bad weather has caused at least 183 deaths across Europe

The death toll from the floods in Germany rose to 156, police said Sunday, bringing the death toll in European countries affected by torrential rains to at least 183.

In the German regional state of Rhineland-Palatinate alone, local police said in a statement that 110 people had died, compared with 98 in the previous balance sheet.

Finally, further east, on the border between Germany and the Czech Republic, rivers also rose in the German region of Saxony on Saturday night, causing damage.
