In the week that Brazil celebrates the World Rock Day, Digão and Canisso, members of Raimundos, recalled stories from the beginning of the band in Brasília, at the end of the 80’s. During a conversation on board the Volvo XC40 with Fred Ring, in the board “On the way I explain to you”, from the program Morning Show, the duo explained why vocalist Rodolfo left the group in 2000. “It was his personal decision, he had a change of life and thought that Raimundos no longer fit. I think there was a lack of conversation at the time, everyone went to their own side, and someone could have said ‘calm down, guys,’” said Canisso. “At that time, there was a lack of a businessman, someone to hold him,” recalled Digão. The vocalist even stated that today he is settled with his former band partner and that a documentary will soon be out telling the group’s story.

Asked why most 1980s rock bands left Brasilia, Canisso unraveled the mystery. “There is a common thing there: an absolute lack of what to do. There was nothing to do, there was no party, club, place for bands to play, etc. And the CDs I used to listen to by Ramones, for example, came from my friends’ diplomatic bag,” he said. Considered one of the most important bands in national rock, with well-known hits like ‘Mulher de Fases’ and ‘Quero ver o Oco’, Raimundos also makes unusual partnerships. Digão told how he met Ivete Sangalo, who participated in the 2017 Acoustic DVD.”

“I met Ivete in Rio de Janeiro, when she had left the Eva band and was starting a solo career. I used to go to Yahoo’s studio a lot and one day I arrived and Ivete was playing drums. She treated me really well and after she broke out she always treated me the same way. When the acoustic was rolled, the record company asked for a female voice and they considered Anitta, and I said it could be Ivete. I texted her asking if she would agree and she replied ‘of course’. It was cool,” he said. In the chat, Digão and Canisso also told stories of the past, how they met, how the band started and what lies ahead.
