President of the Republic said this Thursday, upon arrival in Luanda, that he expects a “great summit” of the Community of Language Countries (CPLP), on Saturday, in which the free movement agreement must be approved.

Shortly after leaving the plane and stepping on Angolan soil, the Portuguese head of state assumed that he arrived in Luanda with “very good expectations”.

According to a diplomatic source, on Saturday, at 10:00 am, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Luanda, the opening ceremony of the XIII Summit of CPLP Heads of State and Government is scheduled to begin.

The summit opens with a welcome speech by the President of Angola, João Lourenço, followed by a brief speech by the head of State of Cape Verde, Jorge Fonseca, a country that ends his presidency “pro tempore” of the community.

The formal work of the summit should start at 10:30, with the swearing in of the Angolan head of State as president “pro tempore” of the CPLP for the biennium 2021-2023.
