The Ministry of Health told about the impact of "Sputnik V" on pregnant women

The negative effect of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine on the course of pregnancy and offspring development has not been identified. This was stated by the Minister of Health of Russia Mikhail Murashko, RIA Novosti reports.

The head of the Ministry of Health noted that pregnant patients at risk of severe COVID-19 are best vaccinated from the 22nd week of pregnancy.

He also explained how the drug affects reproductive function in humans.

“Scientific research confirms that vaccination against COVID-19 does not affect reproductive function,” said Murashko.

Earlier, Russia submitted an application for registration of another vaccine against COVID-19 – the Chinese drug V-01. Livzon Mabpharm Inc’s coronavirus vaccine has not yet been registered in China as it is in phase two clinical trials.
