You can travel anywhere in France without having to get vaccinated or be tested, except if you had planned to go to Corsica. The island is an exception since it requires travelers to present a certificate of full vaccination, the result of a negative test (PCR less than 72 hours or antigenic less than 48 hours) or a certificate of immunity for people having been ill with Covid-19 less than 6 months ago. Finally, a certificate on the honor of presentation of non-presence of symptoms is mandatory.

In the rest of France, you will not need to present a PCR test to travel or take transport. Finally, no hotel has the right to require holidaymakers to present or carry out a PCR test. The establishment may, however, upon instructions from the Ministry of the Economy, invite you to download the TousAntiCovid application which allows, if a positive case occurs, to inform the residents of the hotel. Wearing a mask remains compulsory in all enclosed spaces open to the public.
Finally, note that if you are planning to leave in August, it is not too late to get vaccinated. In fact, to encourage appointments to be made as the holidays approach, the government has relaxed the minimum time between the two doses. The second injection can be performed according to an interval ranging from 21 to 49 days, compared to 39 to 42 previously.
Holidays in France for this summer
This summer, the majority of French people will spend their holidays in France, in the countryside or by the sea, while those venturing abroad will often be limited to Europe.
Like last year, the Metropolitan France remains largely at the head of the choices for July and August, including in travel agencies where it represents nearly 50% of the total weight of bookings (in number of holidaymakers) made in June.
Much rarer than in 2019 but more numerous than in 2020, the French who set sail abroad will be in favor of the Greece, Spain and Italy… But also the United Arab Emirates, which ranks eighth in terms of destinations booked in travel agencies.
