ANTELOPE VALLEY, California (NV) – California State Police (CHP) recently stopped a vehicle after seeing an unusual object on the hood: a satellite dish, according to UPI Tuesday, July 6.

In a statement posted on Instagram, the CHP station in Antelope Valley said Officer T. Caton stopped the Toyota Prius on a highway in the area after seeing a large satellite dish mounted directly in front of the windshield.

According to the statement, when Officer Caton asked if the satellite dish was obstructing visibility, the driver replied: “Only when turning right.”

The CHP says the device violates the California Vehicle Code, which prohibits mounting anything on the hood of a vehicle that could obstruct the driver’s view.

“For safety reasons, ladies and gentlemen,” the statement read.

CHP did not say if the driver was fined or warned and released. (Th.Long) [qd]
