The first indications collected by the investigators in the case of the death of the young man Samuel Luiz, from Coruña, 24, suggest the motive for the aggression that caused his death was not homophobic.
This has been indicated to sources close to the investigation, who have specified that statements have already been taken from fifteen people related to the fightAlthough it has not yet been determined who was the material author of the coup that caused his death.
The poor quality of the images recorded by the cameras close to the scene of the events makes it difficult to identify the author, have added the same sources. At the moment, the Police do not rule out any hypothesis, but in the investigations that have been carried out so far no evidence of hate crime appears.
A mobile that, in principle, does not seem to gain weight because all were triggered when Samuel and a friend were making a video call with the mobile phone with another young woman, which led to the fight because a group of young people believed that they were being recorded.
Precisely, this is the first reason why the investigators do not speak in their first report of hate crime. Another reason that could rule out homophobic aggression is that the group that beat up Samuel I did not know him at all nor could he know his sexual orientation.
In addition to the cry of “fag”, the aggressors they uttered other insults, such as “subnormal” or “son of a bitch”, highlight the sources consulted, so they consider that it is not homophobic violence.
