El Hierro did not register new COVID-19 infections this Wednesday in the last update of the daily data, but just over an hour ago the aforementioned positives were confirmed after obtaining the results of the PCR carried out on those affected.
The Ministry has recalled the importance of maintaining the security measures that we all know, such as the use of the mask, distancing and respecting the capacity limits in closed spaces, and has appealed to responsibility and collaboration with the tracking teams in the identification of close contacts and the fulfillment of the isolation measures.
Health has insisted that in case of lack of cooperation, the collaboration protocol with the State Security Forces and Bodies will be activated for these cases on the island of El Hierro.
In the last week, the Canary Islands have reported 98 new outbreaks with 539 cases, of which 77 have been reported in Tenerife, 12 in Gran Canaria, seven in Fuerteventura and two in Lanzarote.
