The Minister of Health, Oscar Ugarte, announced that from Saturday, July 10, the vaccination against the COVID-19 of people 47 to 49 years of age. In this way, the Government continues with the immunization plan throughout the country through the territorial strategy and prioritizing vulnerable groups.

Through his Twitter account, the official announced that the inoculation process for this age group will be developed through the modality called “Vaccination”, a measure for the application of vaccine doses that the Ministry of Health (Minsa) will provide more details in the coming days.

Last Monday the 28th, the Health sector explained that from this June 30, people over 50 years of age may be vaccinated against the COVID-19 in Lima and Callao. The Minsa, through the portal I put the shoulder, invited citizens who are in this age range to check their date, time and place of vaccination.

Regarding this, Ugarte explained that the expansion of the people scheduled for inoculation is possible thanks to the arrival of more vaccines to the country, in particular due to the donation of 2 million vaccines by the United States.

The Minsa started the Monday the vaccination of 56 and 57 year olds in the nearly 70 vaccination centers of Metropolitan Lima and Callao, where brigades of the four Integrated Health Directorates (Diris) of the Minsa, of the Diresa of Callao, EsSalud, Sisol and the health services of the Armed Forces and Police work.

To date, the Minsa reported that until today, Tuesday, June 29, the number of people vaccinated against the COVID-19 with at least one dose it amounts to 4’288,878. The number of citizens immunized with two doses is 2,932,017 as of 6:00 am today.
