The television presenter José Luis Moreno was arrested early Tuesday at his home in Madrid. His arrest is part of a police operation that is under summary secrecy, developed by the Central Unit for Economic and Fiscal Crime (UDEF) of the Higher Police Headquarters in collaboration with the Civil Guard of Barcelona. The businessman is accused of the crimes of fraud and money laundering.
This operation against an international network has been carried out in Madrid and Barcelona and more than 50 detainees are expected, according to sources from the investigation.
Moreno has been away from the cameras for a long time and focused on his role as a producer. In 2016, two hooded people broke into her home, in an urbanization in the Madrid town of Boadilla del Monte. Upon seeing them, the presenter confronted them and the thieves fled, leaving behind the jewelry and money that they had allegedly stolen from a previous home.
It was not the first time that the ventriloquist faced attackers in his home. In 2007 he faced a band But then the criminals beat him up, which led to several weeks in hospital with major injuries.
