Cologne –

How do you conquer the Cologne music market and, above all, the Cologne Carnival? This is a question that some bands have given their teeth to. “With country”, replies a new Cologne group confidently. O (h), là, là, here come Salooon.

  • Salooon new Cologne band
  • Salooon want to take off with Country
  • New sounds in Cologne Carnival

You read that correctly: Salooon have combined an “O” in their name three times. Why? Quite simply: there are three unbeatable singers in the band – and each one deserves an “O”, according to the five young musicians. Julia Hoeger, Alina Dietrich, Alla Klarl, Paul Lettieri, Jason Schwickerath and Jan Oelerich form the cheeky formation that now wants to attack with Country in Carnival.

Cologne: Band Salooon wants to attack

Country? Why did you decide to take this step? “We all love the country and really enjoy listening to country music. You can hear small country influences in many Cologne songs. So we thought, why not try something new, ”says Julia Hoeger.

Jason Schwickerath adds: “There are so many Cologne rock bands, why not break out with Cologne country pop and set yourself apart from the other bands a bit?”

Five young musicians go to Cologne country: the band Salooon will release their first single in October.

Since the end of March we have been rehearsing what it takes. In the last few months, eight songs have already been created in which a Cologne songwriter also has a hand: Björn Heuser. In 2018 he drove with Julia Hoeger to Nashville / Tennessee, where Julia also developed a passion for writing and now makes many songs for the band.

There have already been set goals: the first single will be released by Pavement in October, then it’s time to “work in the hall” because: “The next step is the applications for the performance evenings and the associated rehearsal work. In between we dream of our first appearance in front of an audience, ”say the musicians.

By the way: There won’t be a front woman despite the three singers. Alla Klarl laughs: “We are free of front women. We do the chanting in a threesome and we take turns in the main voices. Even if we haven’t rehearsed it yet, we hope for the active support of the three gentlemen, which will definitely sound very good. “
