The Commission has already planned several hearings, such as the one by the owner of Preta Medicamentos, who intermediated the purchase of Covaxin; Randolfe goes to the PGR on charges of malfeasance by Bolsonaro

After the confusion generated in the CPI to Covid-19, federal deputy Luis Miranda announced this Sunday, 27, that the federal government would have blocked the access of his brother, Ricardo Miranda, to the system of Ministry of Health. The government announced that it would open a disciplinary administrative process to investigate the civil servant’s conduct. The Indian vaccine Covaxin, which was the reason for controversy at the CPI, has not yet been registered and it is expected that the company Needs Medicines, which represents the vaccine in Brazil, will forward it to the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) the request for emergency use of the immunizing agent against Covid-19. Amid investigations around Covaxin, the commission signals that it will also investigate the purchase of another vaccine, the Chinese CanSino. Therefore, once again, the week promises to be busy in Brasília.

For the next few days, the CPI has already planned several testimonies, among them from the owner of Necessidade, who intermediated the purchase of Covaxin. Senator Humberto Costa, however, admits that changes may be necessary. “Perhaps we will summon people from the Ministry of Health who directly or indirectly intervened to speed up the process of importing Covaxin or we will listen to Deputy Ricardo Barros himself,” he said. The vice president of the Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI), Randolfe Rodrigues, intends to demand this Monday a position from the Attorney General’s Office on the president’s crime of malfeasance Jair Bolsonaro.

“I’ll be representing on Monday at Attorney General’s Office to report the crime of malfeasance committed by the president. This crime, so far, is the minimum to be investigated”, he said. Over the weekend, the president again criticized during the commission’s work. “It’s no use provoking, inventing, wanting to slander us, attacking us 24 hours a day, because they won’t succeed. Only one thing takes me away from Brasília: it is our God. They won’t win on the tapestry or by inventing narratives”, said the agent, who once again complained that the CPI does not want to investigate who received the right transferred by the Union, but only look for problems in the transfers.
