Sinaloa.- The boatmen from the jetty of the Island of the Stone In Mazatlan, they survive only on weekends. According to the workers, have not been able to recover 100 percent of the crisis caused by the health continence of Covid-19.

José Luis Tirado López, in charge of receiving the tickets to board the boats, commented that the only profitable days son from Friday to Sunday, during the week they only move to the premises.

“Weekends are when this picks up a bit, but we have not been able to recover 100,” he said.

The tourist server revealed that there is currently a lot of competition, such as catamaran rides. These already bring a whole package armed, while the boatmen only offer the transfer. The cost of the ticket for the entire trip to Isla de la Piedra is 35 pesos.

Tirado López explained that they work with six boats a day. The capacity is more than 40 people, but because of the pandemic they are operating at 50 percent to respect the healthy distance.

Cesar Lizárraga, in charge of the box office, said that this weekend they had an activity of 40 percent. They do not lose hope of improving the situation for the summer holidays.

“We receive the holidays with a lot of desire to attend and for a good tourism to arrive. We want it to increase a little more ”, he expressed.
