Baja California.- During his last event in his tour of Baja California, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, announced the regularization of cars acquired in USA, known as “chocolate cars“so that the owners can have legal tenure.

“Before the election, they raised the demand to regularize cars that circulate without license plates, I said that we had to wait for the elections to pass so that it would not be seen as an electoral act,” López Obrador explained.

Very soon we will give an answer here in Baja California so that those who have these cars can regularize them, “he added.

This regularization would be in order to ensure that this type of car is not used to commit a crime, so a registry will be created to include data on the “chocolate car” and the owner.

Regarding the cost of the procedure to regulate the chocolate car, Andrés Manuel López Obrador anticipated that it will be very low, and with what is obtained it will be labeled for the benefit of the low-income population in Baja California.

This announcement was made in one of the Sánchez Toboada neighborhood, one of the most violent in Tijuana, Baja California, in addition to the fact that families have lost their homes due to the landslides in the ravine.

In this sense, the chief executive reported that after a census was carried out in the area, 200 families will receive safe land so that they do not run more risks due to landslides.

“A census of 200 homes has already been made. To those people I tell them that we are going to help them so that as soon as possible they have safe ground and do not run any more risk. It will not be a loan, but a complete support,” he said.

And it is that in that area of ​​Tijuana, there have been collapses of houses caused by heavy rains. Likewise, the Sánchez Toboada neighborhood concentrates 30 percent of homicides committed in the municipality.
