The Community of Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha, Galicia and Catalonia have reported in the last hours new cases of Covid-19 associated with outbreaks linked to end-of-year trips to Mallorca, with which the total count of cases among students already exceeds 600 in eight regions, according to information provided by the different autonomous governments.

Specifically, the Community of Madrid has already counted 363 cases; Galicia puts them at 70; Basque Country in 49; Valencian Community in 67; Catalonia at 22; Murcia in 20; Castilla-La Mancha at 11 and Aragon at 10. In total, they are 612 cases verified to date.

To these we must add that 476 young Andalusians They are currently in isolation after making end-of-year trips to Mallorca. This Friday they began to practice the tests.

It should be remembered that the Alerts Report of the Ministry of Health agreed this past Thursday that those people who are or have participated in end-of-year trips to Mallorca are considered “close contacts” after the infections detected in the last hours.

At the same time, the Generalitat de Catalunya has detected a massive outbreak produced in end-of-year celebrations for second year high school students, not in Mallorca, but in the neighboring island of Menorca. This outbreak has 57 confirmed positive cases and 262 close contacts have been detected.

The Balearic Government has announced that it has file open to organizers of a Reggaetón concert in the Plaza de Toros de Palma and investigates nine hotels for outbreaks associated with end-of-year trips.
