REACTIONS.– A bad time for a fight to be registered in baseball in the Mexican League, in these times when sensitivities are on the surface and what was “normal” before is now a reason for scandal. Players from Rieleros de Aguascalientes and local bulls were beaten up in Tijuana, an incident that resulted in punishments and appropriate fines.
Witness events like this are nothing out of the ordinary, the reasons for it are not unknown, they have been part of the game for years and pretend to be surprised by what happened on the border and argue that of “the example to children and youth ”Is an absurd attempt to invent the black thread.
Balls as obvious reasons, suppose them intentional, ordered by the manager, everything is part of a story with antecedents that hardly the protagonists can tell.
But we still have to try to go to the bottom of all this, observing that they continue the bad streak for some Rieleros who have sunk to the bottom of the North zone, in which they are not coleros thanks to the Generals of Durango. And a central part of its collapse has been the ineffectiveness of a board that acts as if it did not care what its club is ultimately not. The franchise belongs to the State Government, so those who appear at the helm the most that hurts is pride, the portfolio does not suffer.
And that is, perhaps, the league’s permissiveness towards the Rieleros, that is, “we take charge but we don’t scrub them.”
POSITION.- In what has been fatal for the Rieleros this year, the LMB has appeared before the obvious but subject to its real concern not to lose the place, that is, not to send signals to the franchisee (the state government) to put pressure on them, to a concern that alerts that emergent measures could be taken and that they are not taken precisely so that “the client does not flee”.
The LMB cannot afford to lose a position again, to be told at the end of the role that there is a drop in its membership after an expansion that is intended to be described as “successful” was imposed on it. A casualty cannot cloud triumphalism.
That is why we will continue to see the Rieleros stumbling, being part of the group of teams that only accompany the others in the competition, with no real possibilities of success in sports and very surely with financial losses. Of course, that such losses are suffered by a state government is the best thing, that it is not a businessman that has become a manager because those do flee immediately.
Saving the square even if competitiveness takes the hell out of it. That the ballot remains in 18 teams, that is a promise after the expansion directed from the Palace.
