The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and the President of the Assembly of the Republic, Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues, will not be in Seville, on Sunday, for the knockout of the Round of 16 of the National Team, against Belgium, confirmed the TVI.
The decision not to follow the qualifier in Seville, after having been present in Budapest, Hungary, comes after the controversial appeal of the number two of the State, who asked the Portuguese to travel en masse to the Spanish city to accompany the national team.
TVI also found that Marcelo does not travel to Spain because of the health situation in Andalusia, with Seville among the cities most affected by the pandemic. Ferro Rodrigues does not travel because he was a guest of the President of the Republic.
The head of state, TVI also knows, will watch the game in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.
Prime Minister António Costa, who said he would watch the game at home, canceled his schedule in Vila Real.
